Hi Will, I will definitely keep the set together. You can always use different drums for different songs or gigs. And the yess mounts are easy to change drums in a second.. I'm thinking a 15in crash/ride would be great if you could only have one cymbal. Something washy with a lot of wobble, maybe wi...

Hi Guys, thanks so much for your advice. I'm going to pull the trigger on the jordans. He's throwing in the 12in tama snare with the yess mounts. Also the cymbals are Sabians aax. I'll just have to find a way to mount my 17in zildian crash/ride get a cowbell, and i'm off! I feel a little bad about h...

Hi Again, I checked out my first cocktail set today, the club jordans. Fantastic. I never thought i'd like pink champain sparkle! I think the bass drum sound is acceptable, standing or stool is fine, the 8 inch snare is not working for me though. The snares built into the combo didn't sound all that...

Hi Guys, Wow! Thanks for all the great replies. I guess what i like about the cocktail drums is the vintage vibe and compact size. I'm actually not concerned about adjusting my playing to the different layout. I think it will spark some creativity. I guess no one has tried the GigPig here (or anywhe...

Hi Guys, Yea, i'm coming around to the idea of a tall stool. I found a club jordan used from a guy near my house. I'm going to check it out tomorrow. Quick question; is the club jordan noticebly better than the Global Pro, or is it percieved as better because of the (high) list price? If i get it, i...

I've been narrowing (somewhat) my search to: GigPig $1000 with cymbal pak) Taye GoKit ($900 with cases, no cymbals) Pure percussion ($400 no cymbals) Whitney Nesting Penguins ($1300 to 1800 with bags, no cymbals.) Some kind of cocktail set.( The big question; will ...

Hi Matt,
thanks for the heads up.
I was wondering; can a bottom head be added to this style of drum, or is there no
bearing edge?
thanks

S.F. bay area cocktail drums?

Hi all, I've come down with cocktail drum virus. Is there somewhere in the San Francisco bay area where i could try one? A drum store or generous individual? ( i have good hygiene) Or should i just take a flier on an ebay cheapie? I noticed the "exel Traveler" this week is back. Has a 10&q...
