This idea actually did cross my mind a few times. I own 2 cocktail drums now & I was thinking I could use one for a floor tom & the other for a snare drum & both for double bass! I guess addin a small rack tom & hi hats could make for a pretty wacky set up. My heavy metal & punk ...

Hey y'all, this was my first attempt at the recovering thing,...was pretty easy with all the helpful stuff on this site, ie: build along with kyle, etc. It has reinforcment rings top & bottom & a big joining one in the middle. I cut a snare wire in half & welded it to the muffler device,...

what was your first drum kit & when did you start playin

Hi everybody, I was just thinking about my first set of drums my mother purchased for me second hand from the local newspaper for my 8th birthday. They were mixed up finishes, a late 20's 28"Ludwig Bass drum in blue & silver duco, with a ludwig 5 x 14 snare drum, student model in wmp, &...

I finally bit my wallet & bought a sidekick too

I think the thing works very well!! I had to drill my shell to add it, but I'm a player & not a collector & I just wanted it to work well! Now it does! My old slingerland has some punch now! The side kick is so completly adjustable! I could position it exactly where I wanted it easily. It be...

After talking with my motorcycle riding buddy last night ab

speaking of motorcycling & drumming......This is where my quest for a cocktail set began about 2 years ago. I am playing with a group of guys, who I met through my motorcycling hobby. I have a six piece band, all acoustic, & I used to use only a snare drum because of the simple folky bluegra...

thanks, It does have the center joining seam, you can see it pretty well from the outside too, but the old wrap & wrap seam is tight & red is unfaded. I just finished up my first recording project, (just rythmn tracks so far) using my cocktail kit. I'm using it with an upright bassist, and a...

Thanks John, My main cymbal is a 14" zildjian crash cymbal, sounds good as a ride also, & my hi hats are old old 11" zildjians that I aquired with my radio kings when I found them. I had never ever thought I would use them for anything, but kept them anyway. Good thing I did !! My top ...

this forum is really cool. I am Mike & have an old 1955 -59 pre badge red glass glitter slingerland cocktail drumset. I have had it for about 6 months now & am really enjoying it! I also have an old 1920's radio king drumset that I used to play out on for my little local gigs, but due to the...
