there's a few people around that rework old cymbals. cutting them down, or re-tempering and re-hammering them, or shredding them into unique noisemakers. Most are kinda secretive and wont divulge their techniques, but you can find some chatter at sites like cymbalholic. i think they need to be clamp...

if you are not handy, a local metal shop guy could fabricate something for you. Think about a system that would just slide down onto and hang off of the rail using gravity. You wouldn't be able to adjust it much, but it would be fast to plop it on. Or, since these japanese drums are not super valubl...

i reversed my dw5000 in about a half hour. I could do it again in 15 minutes. I would rate myself as 8/10 on the handy scale, if that means anything. You will need a set of allen wrenches and a pair of channel locks or slip pliers. Too bad metro crashed and burned, they were selling a reversed pedal...

Instead of spending years tracking down the missing parts for a restoration on a vintage kit, and obsessing about perfection, I had a thought: why not make a kit ugly on purpose?
