RE: porting
Hey - I've isolated both chambers, applied reflective treatments on the snare chamber and isolated the baffle from the shell itself - the baffle essentially floats inside the shell. The majority of the porting is on the kick, working the frequency at @ 60 The mags going to post cound files once the ...

I think this is a first?
So I've been wortking on this problem for a while... The problem, sympathetic snare buzz on a single shell cocktail drum. Full Length Snare on the top , kick drum on the bottom. Recently - I was working with an engineer, and we applied a bit of the Hemholtz theory of porting a cabinet to a cocktail ...

Couple artists added to the Metrodrum Roster !
We are proud to have added a couple great drummers to our growing roster. Fritz Lewak , will be using a 16" Chubster model out on tour with Melissa Etheridge this summer. He called me and need a drum asap, and had heard great things about us, so I actually shipped him my own personal drum. I ju...

Standing - Sitting
After playing cocktails for about 10 years now, I'm primarily a sitter. I also play in Cowboy boots, 1/2 boots actually with a very thin sole. It pretty much does the same thing as adding a block to the pedal. When I was playing three sets a night, using a cocktail, I would play right foot lead, the...

Metrodrum Swizzlestix
We make and sell our own brand - made from Hard rock maple dowels with a center rod dipped in epoxy, and then wrapped with six more forming the outer core. The epoxy helps to keep the sticks from disintergrating on impact. We then wrap with cloth tape to help absorb sweat, and cap the ends. Reasonab...

drum cases
I'd suggest going to a fabric store, find yourself some heavy cordura type fabric, layer it back to back, use closed cell foam as an inner liner. Use backpack type clip straps three of them, should do it. If you a bit handy with a thread and needle, ( actually a sewing machine ) your pretty good to ...

DW and retail kits.
I was National Sales Manager with a company up here in Massachusetts in the Guitar Pickup world for 3 years, prior to striking out with MetroDrum, and building cocktail kits. IMHO, one of the things that makes the prices so high is the middleman and the manufacturer looking for margin. GC won't touc...
