Skiffle, and Carlton Set
I like how the announcer comes in and mutes the cymbal for the drummer. How helpful He is. I wish people would come onstage and do that for me (He said sarcastically as he broke off his arm)zorf wrote:wow.
I wonder what happened to the other guys.

Re: DW Cable
Unfortunately the reality is that they would rather sell you a new $250 remote than help you find a $20. replacement part. Oh well,.... I go into music shops and sift through their bins of old wing nuts and other hardware to keep my old 60s stands alive. Invariably a salesperson says something like...

DW Cable
Hey Mike, No I had to order the cable from a dealer (Guitar Center, in this case) but after getting no help from the 12 year old sales clerk at Guitar Center, I e-mailed DW direct and this guy Justin got right back to me with a part number. I'm trusting him that He (Justin from DW) has the correct p...

DW remote hihat cable
I was able to finally get a part number from DW off their website, I got a return e mail response very quickly from them. The DW rep says this will be the correct part, I will repost after I receive the new cable & let everybody know if the parts fit. For reference, the part number I was given b...

cobra chain
Don't they have replacement chains? Buy a second replacement chain, make sure you have a master link( you should get a new master link with the second chain), you should be able to make your new chain as long as you want by buying replacement chains and adding to the length of the original chain. Yo...

pipes as drum shells
The problem with trying to use pipes as drum shells is that pipe diameters usuall refer to the inside diameter of the pipe. Drums, on the other hand use the outside diameter of the shell as their size. So a 12" diameter PVC or SDR pipe would be 12 inches plus the thickness of the plastic, usual...

Other thing you can use is a keller shell, more expensive than PVC but a lot lighter and if you have natural wood finish drums you can make your throne match your drums. Good lug

more on Karen
You know, if you watch, you can see that she could really play & had some chops but her drums consitently sound like soggy cardboard boxes. I wonder if that is just a loss of sound quality from the original production quality to what we are used to hearing now?

Karen Carpenter
Doesn't it say Slingerland on the bass drum head? Whoops! went back and viewed the clip again, She was obviously sponsored by Ludwig. It's a supraphonic snare. It sure looks like the Slingerland set up of the day, I wonder if Ludwig built that special for her show?
