I've just started offering wood veneer finishes on my kits, two up for a pair in Canada include a Bubinga wood with black fade, and a Walnut Burl. Essentially adding two plys of wood to the already robust 10 ply keller shell - I'll post picts soon !

Our first kits I build back in the mid 90's had three legs, way too unstable - 10.5mm legs with pull ring brackets is the only way to go for stability. Especially if your going to be running side drums and bigger cymbals... IMHO

I've seen Nomad cases on ebay, not the cheapest, but they are fiber and look pretty decent - they are a Canadian company I believe

I've built a couple for customers using the furniture grade full cylinders from anderson with an MDF baffle at the bottom, and top, and fitting high density foam, and custom tuck of the material on the top ( a bit of an effort ) Not the cheapest way out, but works well, wrapped it to match the kits....

I have been using a old vintage bar stool with four legs and a rim that I can rest my left foot on occasionally. The kit I was using is a hipster 14, with the 10 ply shell. The bearing edge I have found works the best with the shells are 45 degree inward sloped. I know pork pie has used this bearing...

I have found Pearl Firecrackers, 10 and 12 with the right heads are pretty decent sounding little snares, I personally prefer the metal ones, we offer them with our kits.
